The stunning debut album by landmark singer, composer, performer, Rock N Roller extraordinaire, Boston native Jonathan Richman.

Released in July 1976 by fledgling record label Beserkley Records, Richman and his Modern Lovers would go on to be immortalized in the annals of punk rock for a collection of demos recorded predominantly in 1972 produced by The Velvet Underground’s John Cale that would not be released until August 1976. Simply titled Modern Lovers, this collection would be heard all the way over in England by Johnny Rotten and his fellow Sex Pistols in that all important summer of 1976. The Sex Pistols went on to cover the albums now legendary stand out track, the Richman penned “Roadrunner, making it a permanent part of their set list.
