Although Terri Gibbs’ career in recorded music didn’t begin until the early 1980’s, her deep contralto voice is much more a part of the 1970s rich rock tradition of powerhouse singers Shirley Eikhard, Yvonne Elliman, Phoebe Snow and a young Anne Murray than anything 1980s New Country ever had to offer. Her prowess at the piano and easy command of R&B blue eyed country soul recalls the best of Charlie Rich and his contemporary Don Williams
