Rock N Roll Fashionistas PERFECT ALBUM Series

The Dream of the Blue Turtles
is the solo debut album by Sting, lead singer, frontman and bass player for the 70s/80s British pop band, power trio The Police.

Recorded between November 1984 and March 1985 in both the Barbados and Quebec, Canada, the album was released by A&M Records on June 17, 1985.

Consisting of 10 original tracks, the album reached number three on the UK Albums Chart and number two on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart in the United States.

The real star of this album is renowned classically trained New Orleans jazz man Branford Marsalis whose brilliant soprano and tenor saxophone work punctuates the most exquisite highlights of this record.

Secretly an achingly delicate jazz album disguised as a hit pop record, all but one of the record’s 10 tracks are firmly rated A to A+ with only the afterthought of the flimsy title track rating a solid B.
