Rateliff

Nathaniel Rateliff returns sans the hip shaking Night Sweats for his third solo album in ten years. Stripped of the trademark Memphis Horns sound this Stax Record reveals a much more personal side to the Denver based lead singer. Perhaps partially inspired by the tragic and untimely death in the summer of 2018 of close friend and record producer Richard Swift, And It’s Still Alright inhabits a space informed by the granddaddy of all solo albums, John Lennon’s stark and somber 1970 album Plastic Ono Band, while hinting at the sweeter shades of Lennon compadre and Lost Weekend co-conspirator Harry Nilsson. One of the finest singer songwriter albums of the last decade.
