Lame Impala. ‘Nuff said. And while we’re at it, people gotta stop referring to Australia’s one man Kevin Parker band as psychedelic. Not since the delightful 2012 sophomore LP Lonerism has Parker even vaguely orbited close to the warmth of the psychedelic sun. Continuing where he left off with the poppy chill electro happy EDM beats of 2015’s Currents album, Parker delivers a rather bland and uninspired near hour long spin of 12 long slow to mid tempo tracks on the aptly titled Slow Rush LP. For die hard fans only. If its pure whacked out psychedelic fun you’re yearning for look no further than last years brilliant South Of Reality LP by The Claypool Lennon Delirium, psych stamped for approval from none other than the reigning Godfather of mind expansion music himself Robyn Hitchcock. Groovy man, groovy.
