52 years after releasing their debut album of mostly covers The Stones go full circle with their first new album in 11 years. Not since 2005’s A Bigger Bang have The Glimmer Twins had any new material out on the street and technically they still don’t. According to the band, while re-grouping in the studio in December of 2015 in preparation for a new album of original material they began loosening up playing some old blues standards and having such an enjoyable time kept at it until they had recorded enough for an entire album. Uneven and lacklustre in places some tracks are just better than others. Some feel as if they are simply going through the motions whereas others feel like they really mean it. One wonders if, at this stage in the game, they have another album of original material left in them. If not, this will be the last Stones album and the band will have gone out the way they came in, not with a bang but with the blues.

Key tracks: Blue And Lonesome, Everybody Knows About My Good Thing, Hoodoo Blues, Commit A Crime, Little Rain
