The vinyl resurgence is not a FAD nor is it a FETISH.
According to Nielsen’s 2015 Year End Music Report: Vinyl LP’s continued to set new all-time highs with nearly 12 Million units sold in 2015 in the US alone . This marks the 10th straight year of growth for Vinyl LP’s.
Compare these numbers to 1930’s record sales when people were not buying many records of any kind at the time. Record sales in the US had dropped from a high of 105.6 million records sold in 1921 to 5.5 million in 1933 because of competition from radio and the effects of the Great Depression.
